Li qun Kaoya (Peking Duck)

Li Qun is one of oldest restaurant that served the popular Peking Duck in Beijing. Located at the heart of a Hutong, you might feel ancient dining here.
The place reminded me of an old Chinese house. We almost got lost looking for this but you can ask taxi driver to drop you directly near the restaurant-house.
Made of bricks, the house- turned-restaurant maybe your trip down Chinese history. Upon entering, you would see a lot of pictures of the owner with celebrities from all around the globe.

Using old-school roasting style, you can see the duck being roasted right before your eyes. You can also ask that the waiter could slice the skin of the duck at your table side.
My verdict on the taste: It was alright, not really exceptionally excellent. It might depend on the slicing skills of the waiter. It was not too oily so you should quickly eat it before it dries out. Other entrees were so-so.

I’m not too keen on the dining experience. If you’re not up for an “adventure”, I won’t recommend you to go here. Sometimes you keep a blind-eye on what you see so not to be turned off, so focus on the taste of the real Peking duck than the surrounding.
Also, load up with Chinese tea after eating a whole lot of Peking duck…it will somehow help you digest the oily cuisine.
