Watch the record breakers of this Beijing Olympics 2008.
Michael Phelps
Usain Bolt
I’m currently watching the closing ceremony on TV…seeing all the athletes happy and honored makes your heart swell. Everyone deserves a big applause and Beijing certainly made it very grand for everyone.

Congratulations China for topping the sporting arena worldwide. They always prove themselves well in this aspect. You made every Chinese proud to be. Congratulations USA, especially Michael Phelps for being the greatest Olympian ever (swimming).
It’s really a One world One dream experience for everyone!
Beijing Huan Ying Ni means Beijing Welcomes You..it’s the theme song for the Beijing Olympics.
You got to watch the theme song of the Olympics. It was an all star cast of singers mostly Hong Kong singers I remember. The only guy I want to see was Wang Lee Hom (handsome guy!)
At 8pm today, China will celebrate the long awaited opening of the Olympics. This has made every Chinese proud of what China has accomplished in making this event special and widely anticipated. The National Stadium will surely roar tonight as the grand opening begins. Hopefully nothing bad will happen because I think Muslim extremist are planning to wreck havoc which I think is not appropriate.

For now, let’s all celebrate as people gather and jointly watch the beginning of a mark in history.
I’ve noticed a lot of consumer goods bombarding people about the coming Beijing Olympics. I, for one, didn’t notice it’s already JULY! 1 month to go and it’s the Olympics already. I passed by Mcdonald’s yesterday and noticed they are promoting engraved logos of Beijing Olympics.

Then while I was browsing on the other Beijing Olympics sponsors, I saw that Coca Cola also got to be one of the primary sponsor. (sure will boost their positioning again!)

As the much awaited Beijing Summer Olympics is nearing (official date to open is on 8/8/08 at 8:08:08 p.m, as the number is one of the most auspicious number in Chinese culture), one should know to stay strategically near the venues of the games you’ll want to watch. Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend any games so I’ll just take note for other people’s reference.

Number 1 in the map is the National Stadium which is famous for it’s Bird’s nest look. It has the capacity of around 91,000! This will be the one use for the opening and closing ceremonies.
National Aquatics Center (2) “Watercube” is another famous new venue which will host competitions like Swimming, Diving, Synchronized Swimming.
National Indoor Stadium (3) will be the venue for Olympic Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline, and Handball competitions and the Paralympic Wheelchair Basketball competition.
Beijing Shooting Range Hall (4) which is also located in the district called Olympic Green will be the venue for qualifications and finals of 11 shooting events, consisting of all 10-meter, 25-meter, and 50-meter range shooting events.
Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium (5) will surely be packed with NBA and basketball fans.
Laoshan Velodrome (6) will be the venue for cycling competition.
Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park (7) will be the venue for Rowing, Canoe/Kayak — Flat-water, Canoe/Kayak — Slalom, Marathon Swimming.
Wrestling matches will be held at China Agricultural University Gymnasium (8).
I’m not really keen with Olympics when I was younger. I just know that the whole concept of Olympic games came from Greeks. I’m more facinated with history than sports and I know this Olympics 2008 in Beijing is history in the making. Starting with much controversy, first with Steven Spielberg pulling out from as artistic advisor for the Beijing Olympics and also the recent protest for Tibet’s freedom from China’s hold. Also the longest Olympics torch relay ever!

The much anticipated torch relay started last March 24, 2008 and it will last 130 days. It will be passed in the five continients featuring important people, cultural heritage, sceneries to emphasize the theme of the Olympics which is “One World One Dream”.
The Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay will traverse the longest distance, cover the greatest area and include the largest number of people, according to plans released tonight during a grand ceremony held in the China Millennium Monument in Beijing by BOCOG, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of XXIX Olympiad.-Source: China Daily
