Service apartment place

Monday, September 7th, 2009

Last May, my family and I went to Beijing then Shanghai, I opted for Agoda’s deal of Service Apartments as I scouted for better deals.
Here’s a detailed account of our stay in each service apartment, Wanderlust Diary.

It had a kitchen, pretty decent bathrooms, cozy living room area, table for laptop (free internet), huge clean beds. Overall the place was great to go back to after a long day of tourist attraction walking.

Xijiao Hotel

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Xijiao Hotel is one of the hotels near Haidian district. Walking distance from BLCU, you can opt to stay here if you want to walk around Wudaokou for a short while. This hotel is quite convenient and clean but not that great. It’s probably a three-four star hotel if I remember correctly. There’s a bowling place right beside the hotel and also swimming pool area inside. On the third floor of the activity buiding of Xijiao Hotel, there’s a store selling DVD’s which is cheap plus you can check if it’s working.

Though this is not the cheapest around the area, I feel that this one is quite value for money (for the quality of room facilities).

Here’s the address and phone number: not sure if it is updated though

Above it all: Grand Hyatt Shanghai

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I heard so much about this famous “world’s tallest hotel” with its lobby on 54th floor. The Grand Hyatt Hotel is one of the famous world class hotel so we had to see it for ourselves.

We just got back from our pathetic picture taking session just below the Orient TV Tower. We saw that it was just a few meters away from the Jin Mao Tower where Grand Hyatt Hotel is so we went to have a look. Gooey eyed walking around Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai, my friends and I tried to look for the entrance which has the elevator going up to the lobby.

I wished we stayed in that hotel instead. But of course, our budget doesn’t allow us so. Like 6 year-old kids, we wowed ourselves going up within seconds to the lobby at 54th floor. (more…)
